As I’m settling in after our week away in Massachusetts, I am looking back on all of my photos and missing vacation like crazy! Yes, I love our home and I love our friends and am glad to be getting back into life, but it was so nice to have so much free time, free childcare (thanks Mom and Dad!), home cooked meals made by someone that is not me, and access to a beach we could walk to. That being said, vacation can’t last forever and for that reason I’m really glad I can look back on photos and remember just how good it was ;)

This mix-and-match swimsuit is flattering, sexy and most importantly, comfortable, and though I have a lot of suits to wear to the water, it’s my favorite one this summer. I found the bottoms earlier this year while hunting for the perfect high rise bottoms and they are truly the best ones I’ve tried on.

I should of course offer the disclaimer that everybody’s body is different and that’s what makes swimsuit shopping so difficult! For me, I have a short torso since I’m not very tall, and I also have a booty. A lot of high-rise bottoms I found offered too much coverage, which sounds crazy but I swear it’s true! Many of the bottoms had too-high of a rise and were more full-coverage on the bottom, both of which turned out to be unflattering on my figure. I think the reason why these ones work well for me is because they have more of a mid-rise fit (you can see they hit right around my belly button), and they also are a little cheeky. I really love the cutout detailing on the sides, too!

So, if you have a similar body type (or not!) you absolutely should check these ones out. I just paired them with a simple triangle top I found at Gap, but any black bikini top will work. I also wear a strapless bandeau with them sometimes when I don’t want to worry about triangle top tan lines.

What’s your go-to swimsuit or swimsuit style this summer?

I love, love, love those bottoms. I, too, find some high-rise bikinis to be just too much. How do these particular bottoms run? Zappa has only small & large available. I’m normally a medium, so I’m leaning toward ordering the large. What are you’re thoughts? Thanks

Since it’s cheeky I also sized up, so I think the large should be perfect for you!!

Love this fun swimsuit! Mama, you look so good! Way to rock that bikini and enjoy your vacay. You should do a post on your favorite ways to stay fit and active.
