One thing we love to do as a family is go to the botanical gardens. Jack is such an outdoor kid, he just loves to run around and explore nature, touching plants and running free. It’s honestly something I love so much about him! Plus, it means less toys in our house and more fresh air. Might as well play outside when we live in such a beautiful climate, right?

We snapped these photos during one of our weekend visits to the gardens. The weather was perfect and the light was so dreamy. I wore one of my favorite fall outfits: my plaid flannel shirtdress from Madewell. This thing is so comfortable! And I appreciate that it’s slightly longer in the back, especially when bending down to pick up Jack. Along with the dress, I threw on two staples I can’t stop wearing this season—flat ankle boots and my leather crossbody. Whether your a busy mom or not, this outfit is easy, comfortable and effortless.
