A large part of my year of minimalism has included finding ways to either make my life more efficient or my home less cluttered. It’s no secret that coffee is my jam—I don’t even need the caffeine, just the scent and ritual of it all makes my heart smile. That being said, I’ve definitely collected a ton of coffee-making appliances and tools over the years in my pursuit of the perfect cup, and it was getting pretty cluttered in the kitchen.
Until a few weeks ago, at least!
Enter the new Nespresso Vertuoline Evoluo machine. It’s a minimalist’s dream, really. It makes coffee. It makes espresso. It’s gorgeous. What more could a girl need?
I’d been using their Inissia machine for the past year for espresso beverages, as well as a Keurig for regular coffee. But two coffee-type machines felt pretty overkill, and our Keurig was sort of on its last leg. Now that I have the Vertuoline (and the Aeroccino milk frother) I feel like a little barista every morning when I go downstairs. Black coffee? Latte? Cappuccino? Cafe au lait? It makes having friends over more fun, too, since there are so many options.
As far as pods go—or as they call them, Grand Crus—I’ve mostly been experimenting with the coffee ones. I am loving hazelnut, decaf (for afternoon cups!) and their new Intenso pods, which are super strong and rich, if you normally drink a dark roast brew in the morning this is totally for you.
Overall, I was a little sad to see our familiar machines go, but am really loving my clean, uncluttered countertops. And my really good coffee.
How do you make your coffee (single-cup brewer, French press, pour over…)?
