Mom + Daughter Chambray

Everyone, meet my mom! While she visited us last week for Jack’s first birthday, we did a little shopping and I convinced her to buy her first chambray button-down—a must in every woman’s wardrobe, regardless of age, in my opinion! It’s versatile, timeless, flattering and comfortable. What more could a gal want?

Today I wanted to share some photos we snapped before she left showing off a little bit of the versatility that a chambray shirt has, both in styling and on women of different ages. Hope you enjoy it and feel inspired!

This look my mom is wearing is super versatile. She styled herself for her flight (we snapped these minutes before she left!), and it could easily translate to a day of shopping, a lunch date, or even a casual dinner with friends. Ballet flats would work well with her look as well—but she had to stick to sandals because she broke her pinkie toe!

For my outfit, I opted for a slightly dressier fall look. I’d wear this on a date with my husband, out with my girlfriends, or even for a holiday gathering. Wearing booties in the same color as my pants helps lengthen my not-so-long legs, and sticking to neutrals (as I always do!) keeps everything feeling modern and chic. For accessories, I opted for a statement necklace to dress it up, and a simple wooden watch to balance everything out and stay true to my laid-back California-girl vibe :)
