Spring Denim Guide

Below is an article I did for Glitter Guide this week, featuring different ways to wear denim in the spring. Scroll down to read it in full, and check out the original on Glitter Guide’s website.

Is there anything more classic than a pair of jeans? We don’t think so. Better yet, spring weather lends itself perfectly to the staple—the snow is (hopefully) no longer lingering, but it’s not necessarily warm enough to bring out a sundress every day. With so many different types of denim available, we’re helping you put together spring-worthy outfits—featuring six types of jeans that are a must in every girl’s wardrobe!

White Jeans
When it comes to white jeans, nothing is quite as chic and clean as white-on-white. We love the contrast of the ultra-feminine top with the panama hat. When trying this look, feel free to play around with a pretty pop of color on your fingers and toes. (image)

Boyfriend Jeans
With boyfriend jeans, it’s easy to veer into way-too-baggy territory. Aim for a fit that’s loose, yet still figure-flattering. To keep boyfriend jeans fresh and feminine, pair with a bright blouse and wedges. (image)

Skinny Jeans
For some of us, spring is still a chilly time of year. This look works well for colder days, as it keeps you covered while still looking light and airy. To copy this look, pair your skinnies with sandals and a semi-sheer blouse, then top it all off with a brightly colored jacket. (image)

Distressed Jeans
The key to wearing distressed jeans is sticking to clean pieces in the rest of the look. Tucking in striped (or geometric printed) tops gives structure, and platform heels help create a feminine silhouette with that roughed-up denim. (image)

Colored Jeans
This spring, try colored jeans with stripes. We love Kendi’s pairing of mint denim with sequin stripes—as well as this pairing, which mixes in some spring florals! When it comes to colored denim, don’t be afraid to go bold! (image)

Jean Shorts
As the weather warms up and we get closer to summer, jean shorts are a must. To keep the ensemble from being too beachy (save that for summer!), opt for a longer style. Add sandals, a button-down blouse and a lightweight trench. So chic! (image)
