{Giveaway} Bread & Wine by Shauna Niequist

UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed. See the winner here >>

This week’s giveaway is extra special for so many reasons. First of all, I’ve been anticipating the release of Bread & Wine ever since I read Bittersweet, which was life-changing. Secondly, this book is going my book club pick for next month! Read on to learn more about the book, and how you can win your very own copy…

From Shauna’s website:

Bread & Wine is a collection of essays about family relationships, friendships, and the meals that bring us together. This mix of Anne Lamott and Barefoot Contessa is a funny, honest, and vulnerable spiritual memoir. Bread & Wine is a celebration of food shared, reminding readers of the joy found in a life around the table. It’s about the ways God teaches and nourishes people as they nourish the people around them. It’s about hunger, both physical and otherwise, and the connections between the two. With wonderful recipes included, from Bacon-Wrapped Dates to Mango Chicken Curry to Blueberry Crisp, readers will be able to recreate the comforting and satisfying meals that come to life in Bread & Wine.

I just finished reading Bittersweet and immediately ordered Cold Tangerines and Bread & Wine. Bittersweet was so powerful for me too! I wish I could erase my mind and read Bittersweet again. She is such a beautiful writer! Her words bring so much comfort and there were times I had been reading and literally burst out loud, “Yes! She gets it!”. Shauna just seems like one of those gals that I’d love to be friends with. And in a way, after reading a few of her chapters in Bittersweet on friends, I look at my friends and they have so many qualities that Shauna describes about her gal pals :)

Agreed!! Bittersweet was my favorite of the three, though Bread & Wine is a close second. So glad you enjoy her work as much as I do! XO
