one-piece swimsuits: not just for babies and moms.

Well ladies, it’s that time of year again: swimsuit season. The temperatures are rising, summer is coming, and with it many opportunities to swim, play in the sand, and lounge in the sunshine. While my go-to swimsuit is a basic black triangle bikini, I find myself drawn to one-pieces all the time lately. I love everything from their retro flair and additional coverage to their creative designs and modest-yet-sexy feel.

I feel like so many of us associate one-pieces with the following:

  1. Being a little girl.
  2. Being a mom.

While little girls and mothers do in fact sport the one-piece look, it doesn’t exclude us 20-somethings from getting in on the action. Sometimes less is more and modest is hottest, you know? Below are some of my current favorites—hopefully I’ll have at least one of these in my swimsuit drawer by the end of the summer!

J.Crew Jersey Lemellina One-Shoulder Tank, $150
This one is my favorite of them all!

Merona Bandeau Shirred One Piece Swimsuit, $35
I already have this one in pink and I love it! Super comfortable, flattering and fun.

Victoria’s Secret Retro One Piece, $167

Love them or hate them—what are your thoughts on one-pieces? If you love them, which styles are your favorite?

I LOVE these one pieces! Your right, modest is hottest…and these suits still look super trendy! Love the printed ones!

Yes! I think prints are so much more fun on a one-piece suit since there’s more fabric to play with.

To me, one pieces just look so much more comfortable! I like the teal VS one above.

I have always worn one pieces or tankinis as I feel a bit exposed in a bikini. I love the one shoulder one, very classy!

I’m obviously with you on the one shoulder suit. It’s got that something special that makes it classy and fashion-forward, rather than “swim team,” you know?
