Just like Mary Beth, she’s one of those “internet friends” of mine who I call “my friend Robin” even though we haven’t met face to face (yet!). She’s warm and kind and smart and helpful—and she’s a Pilates master who works miracles!! I’ve done her online programs before and seen major results in terms of my core strength and also just overall confidence. Below Robin shares how she balances running her Pilates business while raising two little ones with her husband in Colorado. Be sure to scroll down to see how you can win a free spot in her new Summer Sculpt online Pilates program, which starts June 20th and is worth $249 [Update: GIVEAWAY CLOSED] First things first, tell us a little bit about your family and where you live. I’ve been married to my husband for 7 years and we have 2 little ones at home – a 3-year old girl and a 9-month-old boy. We currently live in Colorado. Which came first, the babies or the business? The business! I quit my corporate job to teach Pilates during my first year of marriage. I built an in-person […]]]> 2 Mompreneur: Mary Beth Johnson of Rosemary Wild Tue, 07 Jun 2016 12:00:26 +0000 Mary Beth is someone who I don’t know in “real life” but 100% refer to as “my friend Mary Beth” when I mention her to someone. She is a soul sister thanks to the beautiful connectedness of the internet, and also happens to be an amazing mompreneur tackling writing, photography, and even an upcoming children’s clothing line, which I cannot wait to share about once it launches. Today she’s sharing how she makes it all work while balancing marriage and raising her four (yes, FOUR) beautiful kiddos. First things first, tell us a little bit about your family and where you live. I’m a 28-year-old wife and mom to four kids. We live in the suburbs of traffic-packed Atlanta, GA with a Super Target around the corner and a Starbucks around the other corner. Basically, I feel like we’ve made it. Despite our obviously suburban life, we feel strongly about broadening our children’s perspectives and so our kids attend a language immersion charter school and we hope to live overseas one day. Which came first, the babies or the business? Definitely the babies! I got married when I was 19 (basically a baby) and got pregnant on our honeymoon. Life was […]]]> 6 Mompreneur: Whitney Lundeen of Sonnet James Fri, 06 May 2016 14:00:42 +0000 Whitney is one of those mompreneurs I’ve admired from afar from the moment I discovered her. She’s certifiably adorable and has bangs that make me want to grab the scissors and copy her, but much more importantly she runs a super successful business that solves a real problem for moms: comfortable, machine washable clothing that is feminine and put-together. Her company, Sonnet James, is known for their “play dresses for playful moms,” and they are ethically and responsibly made in San Francisco. How awesome is that?! Below Whitney shares her secrets with us on how she keeps it all together as a mom and a business owner—be sure to scroll down to the bottom for a details on a very special giveaway, too! (Update: GIVEAWAY CLOSED) First things first, tell us a little bit about your family and where you live. I grew up in Phoenix, AZ but I currently live in Palo Alto, CA with my two boys. Satchel (7) and Eero (5). Palo Alto is home now and I can’t ever imagine leaving! Which came first, the babies or the business? I started Sonnet James when Eero was almost two, so the babies came first! What made you decide […]]]> 5 Mompreneur: Sarah Hartley of Holl & Lane Magazine Thu, 28 Apr 2016 14:31:51 +0000 Sarah Hartley is the founder of Holl & Lane Magazine and mom to adorable 2-year-old Henry. By day, she works full time at an architecture firm, Her hope is that someday the magazine will be my only full-time job, but until then she’s juggling it all and today she’s sharing how she makes it all work… First things first, tell us a little bit about your family and where you live. I live near Pittsburgh, PA with my husband, Brandon and our two year old son, Henry. Brandon and I met years ago in a bar (which we’re super proud of) and moved to the Pittsburgh area about five years ago. We welcomed our first child, Henry, in February of 2014. The majority of our friends and family still live near Toledo, OH where we both grew up. Which came first, the babies or the business? Technically the baby. But the business has been something I’ve wanted to since I was little. I went through many ideas of what I wanted to be when I “grew up” but one thing that always stuck with me was my love of writing and magazines. For the past few years I’ve had it in my mind to start a magazine […]]]> 4 Mompreneur: Katie Koentje of NEAT Method Wed, 13 Apr 2016 12:00:14 +0000 Today I am so, so excited to kick off a series I’ve wanted to do for probably a year! Since becoming a mom and an entrepreneur myself (“mompreneur”), I’ve watched from afar as amazing women in a similar position seem to do it all and make it look easy. I wondered if I could get them to share their secrets, and thankfully they are happy to do so. To kick things off, my friend Katie Koentje from NEAT Method—who you may remember from this post—is sharing about business, motherhood, home life and how she finds balance between it all. First things first, tell us a little bit about your family and where you live. My husband, Erik and I live in Encinitas, CA (North County San Diego) with our 20-month old son. Erik and I met at work, and he still works for that same company today. We are both originally from the east coast but are so glad that our love for the beach and trying new things led us to sunny San Diego. Although both sets of grandparents wish we lived closer! Which came first, the baby or the business? Technically, the business, but with the baby in […]]]> 6
