Right now, J.Crew is offering 25% off with the code SHOPFALL—but the sale ends today! These are the item’s I’m loving the most from the new arrivals in J.Crew’s fall collection … 1. Houndstooth baseball cap. I just can’t get enough of the baseball cap trend. Perfect for bad hair days, and literally can be worn with anything! 2. Bouclé bomber jacket. Love the texture on this jacket! 3. Elbow-patch sweater. Elbow patches? Yes, please. 4. Crystal chevron-link necklace. I’m always a sucker for a statement necklace. This one would make a perfect addition to my collection—and easily be worn layered with other necklaces, or all on its own. 5. Woven panel sweater. The colorblocking on this is super fun, making a simple sweater into a statement piece for the season. 6. Jeweled chandelier sweatshirt. J.Crew is all about the jewels this season, and I’m totally into it—especially on something as cozy as a sweatshirt! 7. Tissue turtleneck tee in heather stripe. Though my husband thinks turtlenecks are dorky, I adore them. Especially with stripes! 8. Minnie pant in bi-stretch wool. I tried these on during the J.Crew Style Sessions event several ...]]> https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/09/j-crew-fall-sale.html/feed 2 J.Crew Style Sessions https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/j-crew-style-sessions.html https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/j-crew-style-sessions.html#comments Fri, 23 Aug 2013 16:05:00 +0000 http://hellonatalieblog.com/2013/08/23/j-crew-style-sessions/ As you all know, I’m majorly obsessed with J.Crew. So of course, last night I attended the J.Crew Style Sessions event at my local store. Admittedly, when I arrived I was surprised that not many people were there—I pretty much was the only person in the store, and the girl who greeted me didn’t even tell me about the event until I mentioned that it was the reason I was there. I definitely thought about leaving after doing a quick wander around the shop, but then decided that I needed to follow through on my mission: try on the new fall line! Once I committed to staying, more people started showing up and I got to chatting with a few of the store’s “very personal stylists,” all who were super nice and helpful. They asked me about the items I usually go for, what my sizes were, etc, and then they filled my room to the brim with new styles that were a bit out of my comfort zone (in a good way). Of everything I ended up liking, there was only two items that I would’ve picked out for myself. Major props to them for helping me try new ...]]> https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/j-crew-style-sessions.html/feed 0 Pumped Up Pencil https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/pumped-up-pencil.html https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/pumped-up-pencil.html#comments Tue, 20 Aug 2013 15:52:00 +0000 http://hellonatalieblog.com/2013/08/20/pumped-up-pencil/ When I think of pencil skirts, I often think of dull office skirt-suits. But J.Crew—as it does with everything it touches—has somehow turned the pencil skirt into an ultra-desirable item that can easily be worn outside of the office. Admittedly, as someone who isn’t very tall, it can be tough to find a pencil skirt that hits at the right spot (ideally, just above the knee), but assuming I can find the right fit, sign me up for all three of these ways to wear a pencil skirt… 01 // With A Vest—I love any excuse to wear a puffer vest, so this look had me right there. That being said, I love the way the vest and the denim shirt make the whole look significantly more casual, while the skirt keeps it very chic. It’s sort of a camper-meets-executive look, and I like it. >> Quilted puffer vest >> Two-pocket denim shirt >> Pencil skirt in double-serge wool]]> https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/pumped-up-pencil.html/feed 0 The J.Crew Look https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/the-j-crew-look.html https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/the-j-crew-look.html#comments Tue, 06 Aug 2013 12:00:00 +0000 http://hellonatalieblog.com/2013/08/06/the-j-crew-look/ Style-wise, there is little I love more than the J.Crew look. The casual-chic styling of the clothes, the undone hairstyles on the models, and of course, the carefree-yet-put-together makeup that has become a signature part of the brand’s look for women. I recently stumbled on one of J.Crew’s blog posts dedicated totally to the hair and makeup styling seen in every J.Crew photograph (including those above), and thought some of you might be interested to learn some J.Crew style tips. The following quotes are directly taken from Gayle’s Beauty Tips, a post featured originally on the J.Crew blog. Eyes—Keep It Simple The J.Crew models typically have very minimal eye makeup—sometimes just a bit of mascara or eyeliner and that’s it. According to Gayle, “Defined eyes don’t call for tons of makeup. Just darken your brows for a bit of contrast, then curl your lashes sans mascara. My biggest secret? Apply an ultrathin line of eyeliner in a burnished brown right where your eyelashes meet the skin—and that’s really it.” Not sure how to do your eyebrows? Learn how here. Hair—Undone and Tousled I love that the J.Crew look is easy and imperfect. This is what Gayle recommends for achieving that ...]]> https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/08/the-j-crew-look.html/feed 0 J.Crew Factory Sale Wish List https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/06/j-crew-factory-sale-wish-list.html https://thoughtsbynatalie.com/2013/06/j-crew-factory-sale-wish-list.html#comments Fri, 14 Jun 2013 17:52:00 +0000 http://hellonatalieblog.com/2013/06/14/j-crew-factory-sale-wish-list/ It’s no secret that I have a thing for J.Crew—and that makes J.Crew factory my best friend.
