Zara dress, Madewell loafers, Madewell bag, Skagen watch (c/o Zappos)
A little bit feminine and a little bit masculine. I’m always trying to achieve that perfect mix that inevitably makes any outfit feel inexplicably cool, effortless and chic. This dress (which was only $25 at Zara, you’re welcome) is obviously the feminine element, but I balanced the girly factor with my new loafers—always a masculine piece—and also a watch as an accessory.
The truth is, I’ve been thinking about loafers for a long time but never felt like I could quite incorporate them into my look. I’d see other people wearing them and consider getting a pair, then try some on and feel like they just made me look shorter. Then a few weeks ago I got an inexpensive pair at Target, and I felt hooked! So when I saw these at Madewell and slipped them on my feet, I was ready to finally take the plunge and invest in a good pair. The pointed toe and tan coloring also helps elongate my legs and that’s something I definitely don’t hate.
Lastly, this dress is my first purchase from Zara and will not be the last. It’s so chic and minimal and so incredibly budget-friendly. Major score!
