This year of minimalism is even better than I expected. I love the challenge of it, and am feeling so much lighter with this new intention in my life. I made some good strides towards more minimalism in April and May, which I’ll be sharing a bit about today.
Created a Clean, Tidy Play Space
I knew the time would come when Jack needed a space to corral all of his toys, and that time finally arrived! Earlier this year we got new living room furniture to create more space between our kitchen and living room for Jack, and last month we finally got it decorated. Thanks to the tips from this book, it’s nice and neat and everything has a purpose and place. I’m so happy with how it turned out and love that it’s a kid space that doesn’t feel like a toy explosion (yet).
More Trips to Goodwill
Believe it or not, we got rid of even more stuff these past two months! Brian hauled at least two car loads to Goodwill and our garage is feeling much more spacious now. It’s funny—we don’t even miss all the stuff we got rid of and our space feels so much more clean and streamlined. Less really is more!
Lots and Lots of Neutrals
From my day-to-day outfits to my travel style, minimalism is absolutely seeping into my style more and more. I find myself wearing black, grey and white every day and it’s amazing how much easier getting ready is now that I’ve moved my colorful clothes into the guest closet while I decide if I want to keep them or not :)
For June and July, I’m planning to bring more minimalism in my skincare and nutrition thanks to this book I’m reading right now. Stay tuned for more thoughts in the coming months!
