Paper Pendant Necklace

This is an outfit I’ve honestly worn every weekend since I first purchased the romper. It’s so easy to slip into and works well for the unusually warm weather we’ve had in San Diego for the past month or so. I love how effortless and minimal the whole look is.

The necklace I’m wearing is, as you may have guessed from the title of this post made out of paper! It was sent to me from Uncommon Goods, and was handmade in Swaziland by African artisans. Discarded magazine pages are stacked, glued, cut and sanded to make this stone-like pendant, which is oddly light but still feels pretty sturdy. And the base is made of super pretty lacquered, recycled glass. Even better? It’s fair trade.

UncommonGoods is a New York-based retailer that features unique designs and handcrafted gifts that don’t have a negative impact on the environment, animals or people. They support and provide a platform for artists and designers—most of the stuff they sell is made by hand and created in the USA. Want to see more?
