J.Crew Factory Petites

J.Crew Factory Petites // thoughtsbynatalie.com

To all of my fellow short girls, I have some really great news for you: J.Crew Factory sells petite sizes! I just recently discovered this and am so thrilled. While I usually can get away with wearing some regular-length clothes, I find that dresses look especially strange when they’re not in a petite length, hitting in all of the wrong places. Though of course I’m not really doing much shopping these days thanks to my growing baby bump, these are the items I’d be adding to my cart if I didn’t have an ever-changing body…

NOTE: Not sure if you’re a petite? If you’re 5’4″ or under, you are ;)

1 // Chambray Shirtdress: The perfect swim coverup or day dress—easy to slip on, and not embarrassingly see-through like a lot of summery dresses.

2 // Printed Sunshift: Another adorable option for warmer days. This would look great with a hat and sandals for a casual-cool look—try a straw fedora, floppy hat or a favorite baseball cap.

3 // Everett Field Jacket: A classic and timeless black jacket suitable for any petite gal’s wardrobe. This would look especially wonderful with white jeans on a cool spring day.

4 // Classic Chambray Shirt: If you don’t have a chambray button-down, go buy one immediately. It’s a personal staple of mine and literally goes with everything. It’s what I reach for when I have no idea what to wear.

5 // Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Cotton: Though usually one for neutrals, I adore this minty fresh spearmint color, which could be worn with grey, white, black and even chambray. For a less office-y look, I’d try this with flat sandals and a casual tank. (Also available in natural, bright poppy and black.)

6 // Printed Draped Tank: Lightweight and breezy, with a good dose of structure. Perfect for warm summer days.

7 // Belted Trench Coat: Though it’s safe to say that trench coat season is either over or nearly over, this is a staple item that every girl should have. It can be dressed up or dressed down, and really tossed on over anything.

Are you a petite? Where are your favorite places to shop?

    Hi Natalie!

I’m petite myself and when straying from J. Crew (my favorite ;)) I look to Banana Republic for great petite options. So many regular sized styles I can easily pick up in petite. LOFT is also a good place to look, I’ve found some great fitting pants for my 5′ 2″ frame.
