6 Cozy Chic Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

November 26, 2013

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year. My family always does it big with a fully decorated table (thanks to my mom’s design skills), tons of tasty gourmet appetizers and food (my dad is an amazing chef!), and lots and lots of wine.

Whether you’re packing up to head out of town, spending time with friends or with close family, or skipping the family affair to enjoy a meal with the people who live near you, here’s some inspiration for you as you put together your Thanksgiving Day look (listed clockwise from top left)…

Black, White & Gold
This look is so simple and chic—great for a gathering that’s dressier, as you’ll look totally put together, but still be comfy thanks to comfy black pants.

Feminine Layers
Why not pile it all on? This look also works with a chambray top rather than a denim jacket.

Black, Camel & Leopard
You can’t go wrong with this classic combo. I especially love the idea of stretchy leggings and a loose top for a day dedicated to eating.

Sweater & Sequins
Absolutely my favorite holiday look of the year! Love the mix of sparkly sequins with the soft sweater. Not shown are the shoes: I definitely recommend low ankle boots with this to keep the sequins toned down.

Dressed Down Stripes & Skirt
Super simple, classic and down to earth. I love the mix of the army jacket with stripes—and it also serves to keep the leather-looking skirt from feeling over the top or too sexy. Another version of this could simply be a neutral-colored striped dress with an olive army jacket.

Marled Sweater & Jeans
For a casual affair, this look will keep you cozy all day long.

Yes, me too (though for New Year’s)! That sequin skirt is at the top of my wish list for Christmas and I’m hoping to be sporting it regularly come January :) I think I’ll be wearing a sweater and jeans, or the black and camel look to my Thanksgiving affair!
