Legit Mom Style: How to Wear Overalls No. 1

Madewell overalls*, Madewell tee, Madewell flats, RAEN sunglasses via DITTO (get your first month free with code DITTONATALIE), Hobo bag (c/o)

After styling these overalls last month, I realized that they really are the perfect mom pants. So when Madewell came out with a new super slim fitting pair, I went right over to the store to try them on and—of course—fell in love with them. Admittedly, I felt a little torn before buying them though. Did I really need a second pair of overalls? Are they too trendy? Will I really get that much wear out of them? I ultimately decided that, YES, I did want a second pair and I would commit to finding several different ways to wear them because they are so flattering and I really feel amazing in them.

Thus, this series. It’s part of the Legit Mom Style series because while you obviously don’t need to be a mom to rock them, they are absolutely perfect for those of us running around after wild little children.

The fit of these overalls is magical—they are super high rise and not only draw attention to the slimmest part of your waist, but also really flatter your backside. As someone with a naturally more curvy figure, I really couldn’t ask for anything better! This look is one that’s simple, straightforward and easy to wear again and again. A fitted tee is perfect for overalls because it tucks in easily and lets the pants really shine. I love a pointed flat for a feminine detail on this minimalist look. Since taking these photos, I’ve also worn this exact outfit with a long, olive green open sweater and it’s such a nice layer for when the temperature drops in the evening.

Stay tuned for several more ways to wear these babies soon ;)

these overalls are so flattering on you! I love all 3 ways you styled them. I have a pair but haven’t been loving the cut…am debating if I should pop into Madewell and snag these cause you’re making them look too darn good!

They are definitely worth trying on! The fit is so, so flattering and comfortable despite being so fitted.
