I get a lot of questions (presumably from fellow moms or work-at-home gals) about loungewear that isn’t totally hideous. I’m a big believer in always wearing things that are comfortable and also make me feel good, and that definitely extends to what I wear around the house.
My mom was joking with me when she was visiting for Jack’s birthday about how my cozy clothes looked so nice, and that’s when I realized that I’ve been a good little minimalist and finally gotten rid of my junky old hang-out clothes. Call me crazy, but I sort of live by the motto “dress well to test well.” While I’m not longer in school, I think it applies to all arenas in life—motherhood, work, relaxing, you name it. When we wear clothes that make us feel good, we just have better self-image overall. Grungy clothes, well, make us feel the opposite.
So, without further ado, I give you my current favorite cozy-chic lounge outfit, plus a few more ideas for you to check out…
My current favorites are the definition of high-low mixing: a cashmere sweater with cheap cotton joggers. Some of you might be thinking, Why are you wearing such a nice sweater to lounge in?! Save that for when you go someplace!! And to you I say, Wear your clothes!! It’s sort of like how people have candles but never light them. What’s the point of having them if they just sit there? The same goes for this ultra-soft cashmere sweater. It may be hot outside still, but it’s chilly in my air conditioned home and wearing cashmere makes me smile. Thus, I wear it and feel awesome.

Now that you know my lounge uniform these days, I also want to give you several more items to shop that still fall into the category of cozy-chic. When I’m not wearing the outfit above, I default to leggings, a soft tee or tank and a cardigan. Never fails! Oh, and I’ve included slippers, too, because our toes deserve some lovin’ as well…
