I needed to read that “you just had a baby” link. My little one is almost 9 months, so I keep thinking I’m past the “just had a baby” stage, and therefore raising the expectations I place on myself. “My house should be cleaner, it’s not like I just had a baby”, or “My pre-prego jeans still don’t fit right, but I had friends who had babies AFTER me who look better than I do!”, etc. etc. etc. I literally beat myself up every day just to meet some arbitrary expectation I have placed on myself. It doesn’t help that Mommy Wars are alive and well, and instead of building each other up, I hear constant scrutiny of others’ and my own decisions. (Which, by the way, I am so thankful you blog because I see the torment some bloggers go through in their comments – didn’t breastfeed long enough? make your own baby food? amber teething necklaces? OH THE HORROR.)

Anyway, I’ll get off my mini-soap box. Thank you for that link. Thank you for providing me with a read I wouldn’t have otherwise read that makes my day a little bit better. My word for the year is GRACE.

Unfancy!! Thanks for introducing me. I am so getting inspired by the whole minimalist, capsule wardrobe thing. I first read about this idea on your blog a while ago, and I keep hearing more and more about it. Just read it over here the other day (http://www.kincaidparade.com/2015/01/a-capsule-wardrobe-lets-do-this-thing.html). I’m going to [slowly] start working toward this this weekend. Not only do I love the idea of eliminating excess in our homes, but it’s great for those of us on a budget too.
