For some reason, I have totally been stalling on decorating the nursery. I know I should have this urge to nest and all, but the task is a bit daunting for a perfectionist like me. I want the room to be just right for Jack, and also feel cohesive with the decor in the rest of our home, but I haven’t quite decided what that looks like exactly.
As someone who desperately needs ideas from other people (though I love personal style, I am not one to come up with brilliant decor plans on my own, that’s for sure), I’ve done a lot of exploring on the interwebs and am glad to report that there is some really good nursery inspiration out there.
Whether you’re decorating a nursery in your own home, have a friend who is expecting and struggling with inspiration as much as I am, or have major baby fever and can’t get enough baby stuff in your life, here are several sources of good nursery ideas that I’m loving at the moment…
Ivie Baby Nurseries Pinterest Board
My friend Mary Beth introduced me to the Ivie Baby Shop last week and I became an instant fan of their sweet crib sheets and chic Boppy covers. Of course, I clicked over to explore their Pinterest page and much to my delight, they have an entire board dedicated to nurseries!!
Lay Baby Lay
This is nursery idea heaven. Full of easily searchable style, you can find all kinds of ideas based on the type of room you’re decorating: girl nursery, boy nursery, neutral nursery, shared room or toddler room. So brilliant!
Restoration Hardware Baby & Child Room Gallery
If luxury is what you’re after for your baby room, Restoration Hardware has the inspiration you need. Whether or not you want to pay up for actual RH items in your nursery, their photo gallery is immensely helpful for ideas on how to style a luxe space for your little one.
Pottery Barn Kids Design Studio
For nursery ideas that are a bit more all-American and classic, Pottery Barn is a fantastic resource. They have room galleries for boy nurseries, girl nurseries, neutral nurseries and even shared rooms. Even better, under every room idea photo, there are links to the specific Pottery Barn products used so you can copy it exactly if you wish :)
P.S. For more guidance on decoration overall and whole-house decor inspiration, check out Domino: The Book of Decorating. It is absolutely changing the way I decorate my living space!!
