Help Me Pick: Nursery Prints from Minted

As you know, nursery decorating is coming along slowly (but thankfully, surely). In addition to hunting down the perfect changing table, dresser and rocker, I’m on the hunt for art prints to give the room some personality. For a while, I was getting hung up on having a clear theme, but have realized that I just need to approach decorating in the same way I would any other room. There doesn’t need to be a theme, per se, but rather an overall vibe I’m after and ideally a color scheme to work with.

The plan right now is to stick with neutrals—surprise, surprise! I’ll likely paint the walls grey, stick with white furniture, and make it playful and adorable with art on the wall. At the moment, I’m looking at nursery art prints from Minted but absolutely cannot decide. Will you help me? These are the four finalists…

I love the fourth one but also think the first (nautical monogram) could be very classic. I’m going to have to check Minted out! It looks fabulous :)

Oh, I love number 4! It’s a print little Jack will enjoy looking at even when he’s two and three or older! Definately 4 :)

Oh, the monogram or fishes are darling for a nursery! Also, I totally get the whole “theme” dilemma – “theme” makes me think matching wallpaper borders, curtains, bedding, etc. I prefer a more subtle approach.

It’s tough to decide between Unique Fishy and Animal World Map. Maybe you’re in the market for two prints?

The map. He can enjoy it and learn from it as he gets older. Plus you can tie in an animal blanket and stuffed animals (he will probably have more stuffed animals than you will ever want him to have…I swear, they multiply on their own)

I love 1 & 4. Not sure how large you plan to make the prints but I can tell you that Rex has a similar print to number 4 on large scale that we put in his room and he loves it now (he’s turning 8 and we put it in his room when he was 4) something about matching the animals to the continents…, its fun for them to choose where they want to explore based on the animals. Love the simplicity of 1 too. Xoxo N

I can understand why the decision is tough. I am a big fan on the tree rings and the fish…he can know where he is from/rooted but with the encouragement to be himself.

#4 for me but then I plan when I one day have to decorate a nursery to fill it with images of animals and the world. Show them they are part of this huge, wonderful, crazy planet and have to take care of all that the Lord has put there for us.
