I’ve been a big fan of fresh green juice (and an owner of a juicer) ever since I watched the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. Though juicers are a bit of a pain to clean, I always am glad I took the time to make fresh juice, as it makes me feel so energized!
While watching the Food Network the other day I was pleased to see a juice recipe on Giada at Home. I jotted down all the ingredients as she listed them off, and the next day, I picked them all up at Trader Joe’s so I could try it myself. All I can say is…YUM! Easily the best green juice I’ve ever had. Whether you sip it in the morning, or as part of another meal or snack during the day, it’s a great way to squeeze in lots of vitamins and nutrients! Rise and Shine Juice
Recipe by Giada De Laurentiis
5 to 6 ounces baby spinach leaves, rinsed
2 apples, halved and cored
2 medium carrots, scrubbed
2 celery sticks
1/2 large lemon
One 2-inch piece ginger, peeled
Pass the spinach, apples, carrots, celery, lemon juice and ginger through a juice maker, according to the manufacturer’s directions. Pour the juice into 2 ice-filled glasses and serve.
