Last summer I launched a little hair tutorial series called Braids Of Glory that I’m embarrassed to say I never finished. However, that shouldn’t stop me from picking up again randomly, should it? I didn’t think so.
Recently my go-to daily hairstyle has switched from loose, beachy waves to a braided bun. I love how easy it is to do this style in the morning—either with towel-dried hair or even on crazy, slept-in hair—and I also love how the top knot shows off my bangs. Even better—there are only three simple steps…
Step 1: Make A High Ponytail
Be sure to position your ponytail in the spot you want your bun. I like to use a soft hair tie for this, as it’s generally more comfortable; however, feel free to use any hair tie you prefer!
Step 2: Braid The Ponytail
I recommend securing the braid with a small, clear elastic band so that it won’t show at all. Once your braid is complete, spread out and loosen the braid.
Step 3: Twist & Pin The Braid
Sometimes it takes a minute to figure out exactly how you want the braid to lie. Once you have your braid positioned properly, pin it in place using bobby pins.
What’s your go-to hairstyle these days?
