Lately I’ve been returning to green smoothies for breakfast. Though it’s sometimes annoying to bust out the blender and all of the ingredients, I always feel so energized when I start my day with a nutrient packed blend of fruits and veggies. I especially love smoothies for breakfast as the weather warms up, and since the temperatures are slowly rising, I wanted to share my favorite green smoothie recipe with you in case you want to give it a try. The good news? It’s really easy to make…
Tropical Green Smoothie
A Borton Family Creation (serves one)
8 oz nondairy milk (I use unsweetened organic soy milk from Trader Joe’s)
1/2 cup frozen pineapple, slightly thawed
1/2 cup frozen mango, slightly thawed
1 handful baby spinach, washed
Put everything into the blender in the order listed above—this ensures that everything blends most smoothly. Blend until there are no chunks of fruit, and spinach is completely incorporated. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
NOTE: As an alternative, you can use kale in place of spinach—you’ll taste it more, but you’ll also get a lot more nutrients!
