Though I’m absolutely obsessed with my iMac desktop computer (and really loving my home office), I find myself missing the mobility of a laptop. Sometimes it’s just nice to be able to get out of the house to work on a project, or meet up with a friend for a work date at a local coffee shop. If I had a ton of cash lying around, maybe I’d buy a MacBook Air—but that’s definitely not the case, so I’m exploring some more practical options. That’s where the Google Chromebook comes in…
It’s super light, and completely web-based. It has an 11.6” display, weighs only 2.4 lbs, has over 6.5 hours of battery, boots up in less than 10 seconds and comes with 100 GB of Google Drive storage free for 2 years. For someone like me who really just needs a portable way to edit, write, and publish content, this might be the answer to my problems.
I haven’t quite decided whether or not to pull the trigger on this—and I’m the kind of person who thinks about decisions and purchases for a long time before moving forward, so it may be awhile before I get my hands on one of these babies! But in the mean time, I’d love any and all input you have to help me make a decision.
What do you think? Do you have one, and if so do you like it? If you don’t have one, would you ever try the Google Chromebook?
