If there were a word to describe January, we’d say it’s lighter. While the holiday season is probably best described as full—of family, friends, parties, eating and then some—January is more of a quiet, low-key time to ease into the new year, and often a time to let go of the burdens of the past. One of the many ways we lighten our load is by choosing fresher foods this month to counteract the heavy holiday fare we consumed in November and December. Looking to kick of 2013 feeling fresh, light and energized? Here are some of our favorite detox smoothies from around the web. Cheers!
