the women we admire.

The Conversation Team recently announced a new project they’re doing that got me super excited. It’s a reader-based photography project intended to showcase the women in our lives that we admire. How cool is that?

Here are the details they provided on their website, for those of you who are interested in participating:

We have a special project and we need your help! We would like to ask our readers to photograph a woman in their lives they admire, and share with us a short story about that person. We will be hand picking these photographs and stories to be featured on The Conversation website, along with a video slideshow just in time for the holiday season.

This is a call to action to our readers around the world. We ask that you please email your photographs (images need to be at least 600 px wide, but no larger than 1200px wide) and your story (about 500 words) to content@theconversation.com. You don’t have to be a professional photographer or writer to participate; we’re interested in all perspectives and points of view! Please feel free to share your photos on Instagram as well, and be sure to tag @theconversation and include the hashtag: #iadmire

Our goal is to highlight and feature all the women in the world that make a difference on a daily basis. This is an on going project, but our first deadline for submissions is October 14, 2012.

Please share this with your friends and family members. We want to showcase all the amazing women who are making an impact in our lives! Be sure to find us on Facebook for updates.

What woman do you admire and why? Tell us about her!
